Molasses Sugar Cookies Recipe

What You Need
3/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
What To Do
1. Melt shortening in 3 to 4 quart saucepan on low heat. Cool.
2. Add sugar, molasses and egg to shortening and beat well.
3. Sift together dry ingredients, then add to first mixture and mix well.
4. Chill dough overnight, or at least for several hours.
5. Preheat oven to 375F.
6. Form dough into 1-inch balls and roll each in sugar, then place onto baking sheet.
7. Bake 8-10 minutes.
